Well, hey there, Charlie McDermott, co-host of the show back here in the Dolphin studio. Dolphin studio representative, the one and only Lauren, how’re you doing?

I’m good Charlie. How are you doing today?

Charlie McDermott:
I’m doing terrific and man, chilly weather for the dolphins today? Huh?

Lauren Willeford:
Yes, it’s a little bit chilly out there. Instead of our usual no cold calls, we’ve had many ‘Please come out, my heat is not working. I’m so cold!’ 

Charlie McDermott:
Oh my goodness. Yes, when we first got down here, we went through our first stretch of cold weather and I called up my HVAC guy, we talked about him in previous episodes. It’s one of those you come down from Pennsylvania to Florida, you don’t know anyone. 

So yeah, kind of just, someone raises their hand, ‘I can fix your HVAC’ we’re like, cool! And I called him and I had to say, ‘Oh, my God, my heat’s not working.’ And he came over and he said, ‘Well, yeah, here’s why you don’t have heat. It’s just an air conditioner.’ Oh my goodness, we survived! But yeah, that’s probably a fun fact that you guys do both cooling and heating? 

Lauren Willeford:
We do, we do.

Charlie McDermott:
What’s the percentage, would you say? The typical Florida, southwest Florida home. How many of them have heating?

Lauren Willeford:
Well, realistically, most of them should. Inside the air handler, when we sell a unit, we always include it. Basically, it’s a heat kit. And it’s just this tiny little coil, it’s electric heat. So they all should have them and they come in various sizes everywhere from, five kW up to, I think, 10 kW, for residential ACs. 

But I will forewarn people, it is not like your furnace up north, it does not heat the house up quickly. You’re not going to get your house up to 80 degrees if it’s 50 degrees outside. But at least it’ll warm the house up enough to take the chill off. So you’re not walking around the house shivering.

Charlie McDermott:
Yeah, that’s all you need. Chill till the sun comes out and then just go outside and warm up. Right?

Lauren Willeford:
Exactly. And luckily, down here, what do we have like 10 cold days a year?

Charlie McDermott:
But they’re brutal, Lauren!

Lauren Willeford:
Oh, I know, trust me. I’m sitting here and I’m chilly today. And I’m originally from up north, so I have no excuse, but I have no tolerance for the cold at all.

Charlie McDermott:
That’s great. Alright, so we’re gonna get in today and talk about this cool program. You’ve stayed busy over the holidays. Now for your listeners, we’re really kind of diving into the middle of January 2023. And your brain was working as always, and you’ve got a new program that you wanted to share with the listeners, right?

Lauren Willeford:
Yes, we do and I’m so excited to talk about it. So New Year new perks, right? We wanted to offer something to give back to our customers, because our customers, for all of you who are listening to us today, you guys really help our business grow. Hopefully, we always offer you great service, and you’re excited to share our name with your family and friends. And so for doing that we have come up with a new program. 

It’s our referral program and the way it works is that if you’re a current customer of ours and you refer our name to family, friend, neighbor, acquaintance, someone who lives in your development, and they call us up and use us for some sort of AC service, whether that’s a demand service, they have an issue with their system or they get on a maintenance contract or whatever it may be, you earn Dolphin bucks.

So for every person that you refer, you earn 10 Dolphin bucks. Now the key is that when this friend or family member that you referred calls in, we do always ask new customers how did you hear about us, so when we ask that you want to make sure that they say your name because we’re going to track all of this internally for you. 

So for every person, as I said, you earn 10 dolphin bucks once you get 50 Dolphin bucks, which would be five referrals that you’ve referred out, they’ve used us for something relating to their AC, you automatically on your next AC service will receive a $50 discount off of your services. 

So we put this together because we do it for customers out there who have been very gracious and have referred us out to their family and friends. And we greatly appreciate that it really helps our business grow. Customer referrals is actually the number one way that new customers find us, is really from a family friend, or neighbor. And so we wanted to give something back to those of you who share us with everybody. 

So we thought this was a great way. Plus, it means that you get to save a little bit of money off of your own AC services. So who doesn’t like a little bit of money in their pocket for simply saying, ‘Hey, I use dolphin cooling, you guys should check them out if you need an AC or if you have an AC issue or if you need AC maintenance.’

So we’re super excited about it. We were excited to launch it at the beginning of this year. It’s just one of the perks that we’re looking to add last year, as you know, we revamped our whole Plan One maintenance program and added a whole bunch of additional perks to that. So this year, we’re just tacking on one more perk to all of our loyal customers who we so much appreciate.

Charlie McDermott:
Yeah and it’s so easy for businesses to take the referrals for granted and I’m sure your loyal customers, this is awesome, but they’ll continue to refer you whether or not you came out with this program. But it’s such a wonderful way of saying thanks. The fact that there are a lot of choices out there. 

Lauren Willeford:
There are! A new one springs up everyday, Charlie, I swear it does.

Charlie McDermott:
Yeah and like many businesses, maybe not so much in your business, because it does require a certain amount of capital, but does? The old guy in the truck. You guys have gone through all that, you have the office space, you have storage, you can get parts right away on site and not have to tell your customers ‘We’ll get back to you next week, we have to order the part’ and all that. All those shenanigans that happen a lot, I’m sure. 

And the investment in your team, because all that’s really important, which is why you get the word of mouth referrals that you currently get. And so this is a great way to share the wealth and like you said, grow and help everyone out. Everybody wins. I love it!

Lauren Willeford:
Yeah, I mean, we know you’re absolutely right, there are tons of AC service providers out there, and people can choose wherever they want. So we do really want to show some appreciation and thanks towards the customers who share our name forward, because that means the world to us. So we’re excited about it. We hope our customers are excited about it.

And if there’s not yet it should be up there within the day. But yeah, all they’ve got to do really is just share, be a customer of ours, share our name, pay it forward. 

We’ll track it all for you, based on the customers who call in and leave your name. We have an internal tracking system so you don’t have to worry about it. And once you get to five people that you referred, 50 Dolphin bucks, we’re automatically going to credit that to your next AC service.

Charlie McDermott:
