Well welcome back, everyone. Charlie McDermott, co-host/producer of the show back once again at the Dolphin studio with Lauren. Lauren, how’re you doing?

I’m good, Charlie! Thank you for having me today. I’m so excited!

Charlie McDermott: 

Well, thrilled to have you and have you share what we teased in the last episode. This is really very, very cool. I mean, last episode, we talked about the referral program, a lot of new stuff happened in the beginning of the year. And I’m going to just label it under the give back umbrella. You guys certainly give back in a lot of ways, but I really love this way. 

Personally, we lost two units in the storm surge in Fort Myers Beach. And I know there are a lot of families obviously displaced all over the place, Southwest Florida. So great that you guys are helping out and I’m going to turn the mic over to you, Lauren, and share what you have going on there.

Lauren Willeford: 

So in the spirit of giving, we really wanted to give back to the people of Southwest Florida. Everyone was very severely impacted by Hurricane Ian. I know for me, I was extremely fortunate, but my mother in law lost her whole home, many of my neighbor’s homes flooded, and so our whole team here at Dolphin has put our heads together and said, ‘What can we do that’s really gonna make an impact?’ And so we decided that to kick off the new year, we were going to do a giveaway. 

We want to give away one brand new AC system to a family in the Southwest Florida area anywhere from Marco to Cape Coral, because that’s our service area. And we’re really excited about it, we’re excited to give something back to someone who’s really in need. And I know there are many, many people out there, so this is just a drop in the bucket. But it was something that we really felt we wanted to do. 

So with this, we are going to be posting about it daily through our social media accounts, on Instagram and Facebook. So you can go follow us there and get more information, you can also go directly to our website, which is dolphincooling.com. And right on the homepage, when you get to the website, you’re going to see it right there in the center of the screen, it says enter our AC system giveaway. And you can actually nominate yourself or you can nominate someone else that you feel really needs it. And when I say nominate, I basically just mean enter. 

So there’s a button there, you can click on it and it takes you to a little form that’s going to ask you for some information. So that we have an idea of who you are, how to contact you when you win, and a little bit about your story. Because once we do pick a winner, we will be selecting someone at random based off of everybody who fills out the form, in early March. We just want to be able to share that story with all of the people listening. 

So we’ll do a follow up podcast in March to recap and let people know who ended up winning and we’ll be sharing that on our social media as well. But, again, we just wanted to give back something. And I know there are still people out there who don’t have homes, but there are some people who are back in their homes, they don’t have the AC system, they’re still waiting on insurance money, or they’re still waiting on FEMA or based on what they got back, they just don’t have the funds for it right now. And so we really want to help somebody out here in the community. 

So again, on our website, through social media, and you can either enter yourself, or enter a family friend or neighbor, somebody who you feel really deserves it.

Yes, so you can call our office at 239-596-9044 and we can send you an email with all the information of how to get there. Or, if you just go directly to our website, dolphincooling.com, and you’ll see it right there on the home screen. It’s the first thing you’ll see, there’s a button you click on that it’ll take you to the form. And then you can go to our social media pages as well, Dolphin Cooling on Instagram or on Facebook. We’re going to be posting about it every single day. 

We’’ve also tried to team up with some other local businesses just to help us share the word and spread it out. So you may see other people posting about it as well. We just want to make sure it gets out there so everybody has an opportunity to fill out the form and get their name in there. Iit’ll be up for everyone to fill out the form and get their information over to us through February 15. 

So you still have a whole month, there’s still plenty of time to do this. And then after we get all those in, we’re going to put everybody’s name and a hat, basically, and select somebody at random in the beginning of March. And of course, we’ll be contacting that person based on the information that they provided to us to let them know, and we’ll be sharing that as well. 

So we’re just really excited about this. You know, it was very busy over the holidays, we came up with some new ideas between our referral program for our customers, but now also this and we really just can’t wait to pick a lucky family.

Charlie McDermott: 

Yeah, you also mentioned last episode, the enhancement in your service features as well. So yeah, you guys have been crazy busy. That’s what I love about you guys, you’re always thinking of how can we better serve our clients. And the referral program is a great example. 

Most of your business comes from word of mouth, which speaks volumes, and now this helping the community. You mentioned this is just a drop in the bucket, but hey, this is a big deal. And all this has ripple effects. Obviously, we’re all trying to do what we can to help, and you certainly are doing more than your part in providing this because last time I checked, AC units aren’t inexpensive.

Lauren Willeford: 

Nope and with this we’re giving away an AC and it includes the installation and everything. It covers the whole thing up to $9,500 in value.

Charlie McDermott: 

And great timing, because you can get by obviously without AC. You’re sitting there with a jacket on right now and you’re right. There are a lot of families going right now, ‘Geez, we haven’t gotten our insurance check yet’. 

And in some cases there were quite a few neighbors that we had in Fort Myers Beach who had insurance but didn’t have flood insurance. So it’s like having no insurance. So you can very easily see folks in that situation going, ‘Well, we can’t afford air conditioning right now, but we’ll get by.’ But my goodness, a few months from now hits, it’s becoming a health issue in some cases.

Lauren Willeford: 

It definitely does. So we’re excited about this, we hope everybody listening is excited about this. If you know somebody, please go in and put their name in if you yourself go in. Or if you could help us get the word out and go to our social media pages, and when you see the post if you could share it with all of your followers, that would hugely help us because we really just want to get the word out there to people so that they know about this. Because I know there are a lot of people who would just like the opportunity and hopefully their name is the one that that gets pulled in March.
